Frequently Asked Questions
1. I have to wash it?
We hear this one often and it actually sounds more like a statement than a question !
We know a lot of the Hong Kong style buns such as the pineapple bun and cocktail bun are greasy and the inner cotton lining will get soiled from the grease. Yes, please wash it. Wash it as if you are washing your kitchen rag. The kitchen rag is something that we don't think twice about washing a few times a day. And usually, when our customers hear this analogy, it almost seems like a light bulb lit up inside their heads and their curious frown on their foreheads disappear.
2. The lining is GOTS certified organic cotton. What does that mean?
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Third-party certification organizations verify that organic producers use only methods and materials allowed in organic production. Organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standards and it is the “green” standard to which Organic Cotton Textiles are produced.
3. How do I wash it?
It is machine and hand washable. Turn the bag inside out or simply pull out the lining for better washing results. Preferably, use an environmentally friendly laundry detergent. Tumble dry in low heat or hang dry with the lining exposed to speed up drying time.
4. How often should I wash it?
Depending on how soiled the lining is. Some bread is not greasy at all and others have grilled cheese as toppings. If it is the former scenario, we suggest that you just shake out the crumbs. For the latter, wash it. Every situation is different. Follow your own judgement.
5. Should I wash it before first use?
We recommend washing before first use even though all fabric gets washed during production.
6. How fast will my order ship out?
We do our best to ship goods within 24 to 48 hours of receiving the order. Our offices are closed on weekends, and any orders placed after 3:00 PM Friday will ship the following week.
7. What if I want to change or cancel my order?
Unfortunately, we are unable to modify or cancel orders once they have been submitted. If you need to add items to your order, please place a separate order for any item not in your original order. For product exchange instructions please see the Shipping & Return Policy.
8. Can you custom make a bag for me?
Yes, we can work with you to create unique items to your liking. Extra charges apply. Please message us for more info.
9. Why is the pattern on the bag that I received slightly different from the one in the photo?
The recycled flour sacks sometimes bear marks and imperfections. Therefore, the layout of the patterns may shift slightly during production in order avoid those areas, thus resulting in minor discrepancies in the pattern from that represented in the photo, making each bag unique.
